Senior Technical Project Manager
RailNetEurope (RNE) is an association of European Infrastructure Managers (IMs) and Allocation Bodies (ABs) with the common goal of facilitating international traffic on the European rail infrastructure and increasing the efficiency of the IMs'/ABs' processes. RNE's Joint Office (JO) is located in Vienna with approximately 70 employees from many different European countries.

Your duties / responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of innovative software projects, ensuring alignment between expert teams and external suppliers to deliver high-quality solutions. Steer the day-to-day activities of the team, such as workflow design, supplier-led development, testing, and support.
- Maintain a comprehensive overview of project activities, proactively managing risks and dependencies.
- Ensure steady information flow and alignment with RNE stakeholders (e.g. various working groups, change control boards).
- Collaborate with other teams, project managers, experts to establish functional and high-level technical requirements.
- Work with other development teams developing interfacing internal products (e.g. infrastructure data) on integration details.
- Provide strategic input and actionable recommendations to support management decisions, as well as support for funding projects.
Your qualifications & skills
- Preferably a bachelor's or master's degree in the field of Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-5+ years of experience in leading end-to-end development projects
- Exceptional communication, coordination, and project management skills, with a natural ability to bring clarity and structure to complex environments
- A proactive, can-do attitude, with the ability to tackle challenges and drive solutions forward
- Comfortable engaging in high-level technical/ architecture discussions with experts, designers, and software engineers.
- Proven ability to prioritise, make confident decisions under pressure, and seek advice when needed.
- Experience working in an agile environment and with tools like Jira or Confluence is a plus.
- Fluency in English; the command of additional European languages is a bonus.

- The annual gross minimum wage for this position according to the Austrian Act on Equal treatment is EUR 65,000, - (full time - 40h/week), with willingness to negotiate overpayments in line with the market, depending on experience and qualifications.
